RE: Legal misconduct website

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I am an attorney licensed to practice in the State of Georgia, and my name is improperly listed on your Website regarding legal misconduct at www.clr.org/ga/html. Apparently, you put my name on your list based on ridiculous allegations made by a former client of mine, Marquitta Portman. I am a member in good standing with the State Bar, and have not been charged with any unethical conduct. In fact, Ms. Portman's unfounded complaint against me with the State Bar was dismissed. I have controverted her allegations against me every time she has made them. Accordingly, your statement on your Website that none of the charges of attorney misconduct that you have cited have been controverted, is untrue. Your Website also says that only one attorney has contacted you stating that he considers himself honest, competent and ethical. I am hereby notifying you that I also am honest, competent and ethical so I guess that makes two attorneys.

In any event, I deem these statements pertaining to me on your Website to constitute libel under Georgia Law, O.C.G.A. Sec. 51-5-1 et. seq. I am hereby demanding that all references to me on your Website(s) be deleted immediately, and that an appropriate retraction be issued for a period of thirty (30) days. I am also demanding that proof of this action be submitted to me at the above address within ten (10) from the date of this letter. Your failure to comply with this letter will invite a lawsuit for libel against you, including a claim for punitive damages.
