RE: Response to certified mail of April 7, 2000
Dear Ms. Mercer:
Thank you for your thoughtful letter of warning. I believe I am currently following your legal advice, for I have determined to govern myself according to the law. Specifically because I have been defrauded and misled by more than one attorney, I realize that it is solely my responsibility to learn the law before proceeding into uncharted waters. I also thank you for the generous offer of time in which to position myself with what you call a "complete defense" of voluntary withdrawal. There is no need for me to wait the 30 days before telling you of my decision, for I choose to remain steadfast in my pursuit of justice. It is my understanding of the abusive litigation statute that Mr. Kidd is no longer "entitled" by law to seek such claims.
I have no other choice but to assume that Arnall Golden & Gregory, LLP is knowledgable of Mr. Kidd's numerous threats and misrepresentations; both those prior to and those since the initiation of this present litigation. I did find it odd that he failed to "copy" your office with his recent threats.
I've learned the lesson, "Know your attorney" the hard way. I suggest it is also wise to "Know your client." Representation of an attorney by a well-respected law firm may be professional courtesy. It can also be dangerous unless all members of the profession are above reproach.
Respectfully submitted,
