THE SUPERIOR COURT OF COBB COUNTY

STATE OF GEORGIA

CERTIFICATE REQUESTING SERVICES OF SENIOR JUDGE AND
ORDER OF APPOINTMENT OF SENIOR JUDGE

 A majority of the Judges of the Cobb Judicial Circuit, having determined a need for extra judicial assistance, has requested the services of the Honorable Rufe E. McCombs, Senior Judge, Superior Courts, State of Georgia. This request is made because of the volume of court business to be transacted and because the active Superior Court Judges of the Cobb Judicial Circuit are engaged in jury trials and/or their other regular Circuit duties, or are absent from the Circuit, and in order to provide for the speedy and efficient disposition of court business in the Circuit.

The requested appointment shall be for the Honorable Rufe E. McCombs to hear and preside over the matter of Portman v. Kreeger, et al., Civil Action File No. 99-1-7941-35, Cobb Superior Court, said appointment becoming effective contemporaneously with the filing of this Order and continuing until such time thereafter as is reasonably necessary to dispose of said case.

The Honorable Rufe E. McCombs is entitled to serve and is hereby authorized to serve as a Superior Court Judge of the Cobb Judicial Circuit and is fully clothed with the same power and authority exercised by the Superior Court Judge of the Cobb Judicial Circuit pursuant to the rules of service for senior judges set out in the Uniform Superior Court Rules, the rules of the Supreme Court of Georgia and the laws of this State.

Let this Order, or a copy hereof, be filed with the Clerk of the Superior Court of Cobb County, Georgia, and with the office of the Seventh Judicial Administrative District.
